Youth Development
Our Youth Department goes beyond just designing and implementing programs. We cultivate partnerships and ensure the sustainability of STEM education and exposure. We offer youth programs and create pathways for over 600 San Francisco students aged 13-24. These programs provide comprehensive, hands-on learning experiences in multidisciplinary STEM fields. Our youth initiatives are acclaimed at local, state, and national levels, highlighting our efforts' significant impact and success.
Empowering Black Youth (EBY)
The Code Tenderloin Empowering Black Youth (EBY) Program is a comprehensive initiative that offers an 18-week stipend-based internship, a 15-week fellowship, and a 12-week ambassadorship. The program runs annually, with internships from February to June, fellowships from October to February, and ambassadorships scheduled as needed. Each year, EBY accepts up to 15 new students who participate in an intensive learning experience, collaborating to develop public health campaign materials. These projects may include podcasting, web development, short films, research, or public health toolkits using various software platforms. EBY students are required to complete up to 40 hours of work per month, depending on their program tier. The 2023-2024 Spring cohort’s projects—completed by interns and fellows—will showcase the impact of EBY on community engagement. A link to these projects will be posted here soon.
