Community Ambassador Program
Through our Community Ambassador programs, we facilitate the transition of clients experiencing various degrees of homelessness, unemployment, and justice impact into diverse services, including job readiness training, community health initiatives, and coding classes. We focus on empowering parents and youth to develop essential skills, access job training, and receive support for their job search. Our mission is to create meaningful impact rather than merely managing the challenges faced by our community.
The Community Ambassadors and Night Navigators serve as vital resources in the neighborhood, assisting individuals experiencing health emergencies related to drug use and those seeking recovery options.
Our Community Ambassador Jobs Program emphasizes extensive community outreach in San Francisco’s Tenderloin and surrounding neighborhoods. Our job readiness program graduates continue their journey as Community Ambassadors, earning about $27 per hour while receiving on-the-job training. Each ambassador is paired with a case manager and a career counselor to support their professional development.
During their training, we assist with long-term job searches and help eliminate any personal barriers they may encounter. Many ambassadors advance through our program pipeline into our Community Health Worker or Code Ramp programs. Participants also have ongoing access to resume reviews, career fairs, and on-site tech tours hosted by our corporate partners. As a result, many secure positions with leading technology companies or within the public health sector, establishing long-term careers that provide living-wage income.
